Jot Condie joined the California Restaurant Association in 1999 and was promoted to the position of president and chief executive officer May 17, 2004. Before this post, Condie served as the association’s vice president of government affairs and public policy, where he was the restaurant industry’s chief lobbyist and political strategist in California. In that role he built the CRA Political Action Committee into one of the largest small-business trade association PACs in the state and raised $18 million from the restaurant industry to fight Proposition 72 in 2004.
Robin Ashton is publisher of Foodservice Equipment Reports and its ancillary print and electronic products, including www.fermag.com, FER Fortnightly and FER Dealer Report, FER Worldwide Report and FER e-Product News.
As an editor, Mr. Ashton has won numerous awards, including American Business Press Jesse H. Neal Certificates of Merit in 1983 and 1987, and national award for in-depth features from the American Society of Business Press Editors in 1990 and again in 2014.
Richard Young is Director of Education at the PG&E Food Service Technology Center (FSTC), a publicly funded energy-efficiency research facility operated by Frontier Energy, an energy and technology consulting firm headquartered in Oakland, California.
Richard currently focuses most of his efforts on technical outreach- translating the FSTC's 30 years of research into practical information. He has over 25 years of experience creating and presenting seminars on energy efficiency and currently delivers about 75 sessions a year.
